Description

Indications for EPITACT® heel cushions for plantar fasciitis:

EPITACT® heel cushions prevent and alleviate heel pain caused by plantar fasciitis and heel spurs during walking. Thanks to their shock-absorbing capacity, they also reduce joint pain and backaches caused by the shockwave that travels through the body with each step.

How do they work?

The effectiveness of heel cushions for plantar fasciitis relies on a triple benefit:

Pain relief: By elevating the heel by a few millimeters, they decrease tension on the plantar fascia and reduce painful inflammation.
Preserve tendons and joints: The Physio’Choc™ platform dissipates the energy generated during foot impact on the ground and ensures optimal cushioning with each stride.
Offer great walking comfort: The core of the heel cushion made of Epithelium™ silicone gel reduces pressure on the painful area.

The materials used in the heel cushions for plantar fasciitis have been validated by podiatrists.

Usage Tips for EPITACT® Heel Cushions

The heel cushions for plantar fasciitis should be worn with socks, stockings, or tights.
Before the first use, remove the protective film covering the double-sided adhesive and then position the heel cushions in the shoe.

FAQ (Frequently Asked Question)

What is the difference with gel heel cushions?

To be effective, heel cushions need to be made of a shock-absorbing material that limits trauma related to foot impact on the ground. Some gels have this capability (but not all), while Physio'Choc™ is highly effective for this purpose. Additionally, as gel heel cushions are extremely flexible, they promote inward tilting of the foot in a pronated position. Wearing them for extended periods can lead to pain in areas other than the foot, such as the knee.

How to choose the right size of heel cushions for plantar fasciitis?

Size S is primarily for smaller feet; it is more suitable for women. Conversely, size L is more appropriate for wider feet and is generally suitable for men.

How to determine if the heel cushion is for the right or left foot?

The end of the heel cushion for plantar fasciitis is beveled. The longer side should come from the inner side of the foot.
