Can you wear a hallux valgus splint during the day?
It is not recommended to use the hallux valgus splint during the day because its rigid reinforcement is not easily compatible with wearing "standard" shoes and the need to move around. For this reason, EPITACT® has also developed a flexible hallux valgus orthosis, compatible with shoe wearing and walking.
How to choose the right size?
Using a tape measure, measure the circumference of your foot just before the "bunion." Then, refer to the size guide accessible at the top of the page. If you are between two sizes, it is better to choose the smaller one.
Can the splint cause pain?
In the case of hallux valgus, straightening the big toe may require an adaptation period. It is recommended to wear the splint gradually during the initial uses. Additionally, the degree of correction should be gradual and moderate to avoid joint pain. If the thermoforming was not done correctly, it can be repeated several times. If you feel the need, consult a podiatrist.
