Usage Tips for the Knee Support Brace

• Wash before first use.
• For optimal fit: before use, do not apply moisturizing cosmetics and wash the silicone bands at least with water and soap to remove impurities.
• To minimize the risk of skin irritation, place the ski knee brace without stretching it on the thigh and do not wear it while lying down or during prolonged sitting (sleeping, car travel, etc.). In case of painful sensation, swelling, discomfort, or any other abnormal reaction, stop using it and consult a doctor.

Contraindications

• Do not use this knee support brace on a skin lesion.
• Do not use in cases of arteritis, significant varicose condition, sequelae of phlebitis, or leg and/or thigh edema (lymphatic/venous) so as not to impede circulation. If in doubt, consult your doctor or pharmacist.
• Do not use with compression stockings.

How to maintain your knee support brace?

The ski knee brace is machine washable at 30°C or can be hand washed (without rubbing) with water and soap. Do not use detergent or stain remover (bleach, acetone, solvent, etc.). No chlorination. No ironing or steaming. No machine drying. No dry cleaning. Dispose of and replace the device as soon as cracks appear in the gel or when the fabric or seams degrade.

When and how long should I wear the ski knee brace?
The Physiostrap® Ski EPITACT® knee brace is designed for both beginner and experienced athletes experiencing patellar pain (patellar syndrome, tendinitis, osteoarthritis, etc.). It is worn only during dynamic activities (while in motion) and can be used for prevention or pain relief as it helps preserve muscle strength. Outside of sports activities, you can wear the medical knee brace throughout the day during daily activities.

How do I choose the right size?
Using a tape measure, measure the circumference of your knee in a semi-flexed position starting from the center of the kneecap. Then, refer to the size guide accessible at the top of the page. If you're unsure between two sizes, it's better to choose the smaller one.

What is its lifespan?
This knee support brace is made of durable fabric and high-quality materials, giving it an average lifespan of 6 months, provided that you follow the instructions for use and maintenance.

What is the difference compared to the Physiostrap® Sport EPITACT® knee brace?
The ski knee brace is specifically designed for sports involving repeated knee flexions. Compared to the Physiostrap® Sport, the tendon that surrounds the kneecap is doubled to enhance joint support. Additionally, the silicone bands on the thigh and calf are different to provide stronger support with the Physiostrap® Ski.
