Can one wear a soft thumb orthosis at night?
The EPITACT® soft thumb orthosis is specially designed to provide relief during the day while allowing you to continue your daily tasks. At night, it can happen that the thumb is unconsciously placed in a position that exacerbates pain. That's why a rigid orthosis* that immobilizes it in an appropriate position is preferable.
How to choose the right size?
Using a tape measure, measure the circumference of your wrist just at the base of the thumb. Then refer to the size guide accessible at the top of the page. If you are unsure between two sizes, it is better to choose the smaller one.
Can one drive with the EPITACT® thumb orthosis for rhizarthrosis?
The activity thumb orthosis allows for all voluntary grasping movements. It is thus possible to hold a steering wheel, use a phone, cook, etc. However, the orthosis limits the small movements made with the hands when speaking or walking. Although minimal, these movements can have an impact on the duration of thumb arthritis crises.
